5. BATTERY CHARGING
When the battery is low, the “25%” red indicator LED (fig.1, rif.17) will be turned on, take care as soon
as possible to recharge the battery by connecting the AC/DC 100-240Vac / 20Vdc supplied adapter to
the dedicated 18V DC input (fig.1, ref.16).
Connecting the adapter to the mains, it will automatically begin the internal battery charging process
and level indicator (fig. 1, rif.17) will start to light up cyclically.
If the mains adapter supplied is connected and the battery level is 100%, the internal charging circuit
will provide a holding current.
Note: Charge the battery for about 2 hours to to obtain approximately 3 hours of operation.
Warning
Always switch OFF the power when you stop using the unit. If you do not, the battery keeps
working and could be damaged..
The full discharge of the batteries could permanently compromise their functionality, therefore,
avoid discharging the batteries completely during use by turning the FREE50V3 off as soon as
the charging led (fig.1, rif.17) goes on.
In case of long periods of disuse, it is recommended to recharge the batteries every 3 months to
preserve their integrity.
BATTERY Replacement
This unit features an 12V/3AH battery. When properly used, it can be recharged more than 500
times.
The battery should power the unit for 3 hours. If the battery does not last more than an
hour and a
half, it is probably at the end of its operational life, and needs to be changed.
The battery needs to be correctly connected.
Note: This operation should always be carried out by qualified personnel. Contact an authorised/qualified
service centre.
